Reel Tech Custom-Steelhead Spinning Rod
Completed this build for a very special customer who is a lifetime New York Giants Fan….my Dad!
Built this rod using a a Rogue SS904 9′ 6-10# blank. He wanted a split grip design and really liked the feel of the Fuji VSS reel seat. He chose awesome Fuji Alconite guides for the build. Of course, he wanted the rod built in New York Giants team colors. The first guide of the rod has a special trim band design which came out great with the two contrasting colors.
The rod came out great and I delivered it to him yesterday before the game. He couldn’t be happier with the rod, and the fact that the Giants are going to the Superbowl in 2012!!
Cant wait to see this rod doubled over with a steelhead on it!!!

Reel Tech Custom Steelhead Spinning Rod
This is Cory Brenner’s 2nd Reel Tech Custom. He went with a Rogue SS904 9′ 6-10 blank this time as he was looking for a good side drifting rod and all around steelhead spinning rod. He chose the quality REC Titanium guides again for the build. He liked the look and feel of the Fuji VSS Reel seat and wanted a split grip design for this rod. The red and silver aluminum winding checks compliment the red and silver thread wraps nicely. He requested a fancy diamond pattern in the split grip area as well to give the rod additional unique character.
Cory is already outlining what he wants for his 3rd Reel Tech Custom Steelhead Rod. The next one will be built on a St. Croix blank! Cant wait to custom build his next dream rod!!

One thing I applaud Chris for is the fact that he keeps all river names and locations anonymous. Chris encourages site visitors to send in success photos or any fishing photos for that matter, without fear that where you are fishing will be revealed. Gaining true fishing knowledge is never about where, what river, or what spot, its about learning the techniques and tactics, and then applying them to wherever you live, and whatever river you fish. There is a lot of fantastic knowledge that can be obtained from the site, no matter what your skill level at fishing may be.

Jan 9,10 2012 Winter Steelhead Fishing
Had a great time on the water for a couple of days with my Dad and friend Jon Geyer. Water was low, and the fishing was good. We were able to catch fish both side drifting yarn, as well as getting fish in the hard to reach areas with the floats and Reel Tech Custom jigs. My Dad got his best steelhead to date. Fun times! Thanks for joining us Dad, it was great having you along!
